Ola Share Pass is a boon for Techies

Cyberabad’s Financial District is always neglected by the State’s public transport – RTC. Often, buses played are very less nor doesn’t play in the required routes. RTC was very late in introducing routes like 195 (Waverock to Bachupally) leaving the ground to autowallas whose business blossomed by the ‘share’ autos. Also, RTC is playing the buses in long routes when IT employees travel short distances. It is also a reason for employees keeping away from public transport.

In this conditions, the introduction of ‘Share Pass’ by Ola pulled the employees towards Ola from Autos/RTC. Normally, Ola or Uber will be in Peak or Surge pricing during the normal commuting hours of IT employees. By purchasing Ola Share Pass, Users can travel with Normal fares even during peak hours.

The cost to travel from Financial District to KPHB, where most of the techies stay, is just around Rs.80. It costs a total of Rs.160 for a to and fro travel. This is very much less than taking a personal car out or travelling by share autos. This Share Pass feature also helped Ola in beating Uber. Though Uber also have Uber Pool similar to Ola Share, it doesn’t have feature like Share Pass which shields users from peak pricing.

'AP Purse' is just a list of wallets!

When Andhra Pradesh government announced its own Wallet service called AP Purse, there are many expectations built over it. As the state has tech-savvy CM, people thought AP Purse will be a wallet similar to other Wallets like PayTM, Mobikwik etc. But the app, which is in beta, turned out to be a list of other Wallet Services and Bank Apps.

Is AP government planning to upgrade the app into full-fledged app or will it leave it as it is? It seems the app will eventually be developed into a complete wallet app. The App required users to register the mobile numbers to get into the app. If the app won't be developed into a complete independent wallet service then there is no meaning in asking users to register with the mobile numbers. The only good thing about the app in its present state is its logo. The logo is very good looking with Indian Rupee Symbol in it and 'P' over 'P' over 'A' showing as 'APP'urse.

Hope government will make it a true wallet service and the State live up to the reputation of most tech-savvy state.
